Pieno sostegno alla battaglia delle Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo: il ministro degli Esteri, Federica Mogherini, lo ha assicurato oggi alla presidente dell\u2019associazione argentina, Estela Carlotto, che ha incontrato alla Farnesina insieme con il sottosegretario Mario Giro. \u201cVogliamo mantenere la grandissima vicinanza alla battaglia di verit\u00e0 e di giustizia che avete portato avanti in questi anni e che continuerete a combattere\u201d, ha assicurato il ministro.<\/P>
Da parte sua, la signora Carlotto ha ringraziato il ministro e il governo per il contributo alle ricerche sulla sorte dei tanti desaparecidos, anche di origine italiana e di doppia cittadinanza, negli anni della dittatura militare tra il 1976 e il 1983. L\u2019Italia ha gi\u00e0 consegnato migliaia di documenti della Farnesina, per la maggior parte contenuti negli archivi delle rappresentanze diplomatico-consolari italiane in Argentina. \u201cIntendo portare personalmente, in un viaggio a Buenos Aires che far\u00f2 nei prossimi mesi, la restante parte dei fascicoli\u201d, ha preannunciato Mogherini.<\/P>

\u201cL\u2019Italia sosterr\u00e0 la campagna di informazione sui desaperacidos promossa dal governo dell\u2019Argentina e dalle nonne di Plaza de Mayo. Dopo che si sono ritrovate le tracce di 120 bambini rapiti alle loro madri durante i tragici fatti della dittatura, ne mancano all\u2019appello ancora 400. L\u2019Argentina sostiene che alcuni possano essere anche in Italia\u201d. Ha dichiarato il sottosegretario Giro.

Desaparecidos: Mogherini pledges solidarity in the search for truth

Minister for Foreign Affairs Federica Mogherini pledged full support today to President of the Argentine association Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo Estela Carlotto, with whom she met with Under-Secretary Mario Giro. \u201cWe wish to maintain the close bond that has united us over all these years in the battle for truth and justice that we will continue to wage\u201d, the minister assured.<\/P>

Mrs. Carlotto thanked the minister and the government for its contribution to the search to uncover the fate of so many desaparecidos, including those of Italian descent and dual citizenship, during the 1976-1983 military dictatorship. Italy has already turned over thousands of foreign ministry documents, most of which from the files of Italian diplomatic missions in Argentina. \u201cWe intend to personally deliver the remaining files on a trip to Buenos Aires in the coming months, Minister Mogherini announced.<\/P>

\u201cItaly will support the campaign for information on the desaperacidos sponsored by the Argentine government in the name of the grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo. The traces of 120 children kidnapped from their mothers during the tragic events of the dictatorship have been found, but another 400 are still unaccounted for. Argentina maintains that some of them could be in Italy\u201d, Under-Secretary Giro stated.<\/P>
